AND the NZ Secondary Schools’ Orchestra showcasing the orchestral talent from 44 schools around New Zealand!
1. Thursday 1st May from 4-5pm.
This informal concert will be held at St Margaret’s College in the Charles Luney Auditorium.
It will introduce the 2014 NZSSSO orchestra, where they will present a taster of the symphonic music being prepared for Saturday night.
This will be an ideal concert for younger audience members and those newish to symphonic music.
Ticket price for this concert will be $5/ticket
They can be purchased at the door.
2. Saturday 3rd May from 7pm.
Our main performance will also be held at St Margaret’s College in the Charles Luney Auditorium.
This performance will showcase the complete works that the orchestra has been preparing.
The concert order will be as follows;
Jean Sibelius – Finlandia Op 26
Gareth Farr – Little Sea Gongs – for percussion ensemble
George Gershwin – Piano Concerto in F featuring our guest pianist, Han Sol Jeong.
Antonín Dvorák – Symphony No. 8 In G Major, Op. 88
Ticket prices are $15 Waged. $10 Unwaged.
Tickets for both concerts will be sold at the door – assuming we don’t sell out like we did last year!
