The 5 Chisnallwood bands are performing on August 29th at the Aurora Centre, Burnside High (the same place as RockQuest 2014).
Bands need to be there ay 4.15pm for their sound check and feedback from the judge.
If students need a ride there, or parents can help with this, please let Mrs Bell know.
There won’t be much time for dinner before the 7pm start for the evening finals, so students may bring $5 to go towards pizza or parents may bring a dinner down for their student at around 6pm.
Some information regarding the venue and date of your regional final are on the website (www.bandquest.co.nz). We have sent home a promotional flyer/permission sheet for each band member to get signed by a guardian. These can be brought back to Mrs Bell at school
When you check in, we will also get the names of the songs performed and their writers for our APRA License return, and check the entry forms with you for any Band detail revisions.
All bands will be required to be at the venue at 4:15pm, for soundchecks, and are expected to remain in the venue until the show finishes.
You will need to bring guitars and keyboards (with stand), but all amps and drum kit are provided. The PA and Lighting is also provided, complete with operators.
The afternoon session consists of a rehearsal for all bands, getting them familiar with the amps, and the stage layout, an opportunity for some last minute feedback and performance advice, and an opportunity to watch each other’s performances. There will be no eliminations during the afternoon session, so all bands will have the opportunity to strut their stuff to their friends and Family in the Evening Final.
The Final will commence at 7pm, and is expected to run for approximately 2 1/2hours.
Tickets are available as door sales only, from 6:00pm, for $10 per person. There is no charge for bandmembers, Staff, or children under 6 yrs. EFTPOS will be available at the venue, and ticket pre-sales will be available from www.ticketek.co.nz
