for our future year 7s…!
Last week at Chisnallwood we held our taster days on Tuesday and Wednesday
We performed to the local schools. These were Waitakiri, Whitau, and Bromley came on Tuesday, and Shirley Primary, St James, Pareawa, Linwood Ave, Parkview, Rawhiti, Queenspark, and South New Brighton on Wednesday.
During our show, we presented Taonga Pūoro Group, Celtic Band, Jazz Band, Recorder Ensemble, Strum Strike Blow, Brass Ensemble, Choir, Concert Band, Orchestra, and Rock Bands.
My favourite bit was Jazz Band, they performed One Sixty Blue, From The Start. The jazz band sounded brilliant! Even some of the teachers came up and said how good we were!
I was sound tech for half of it as I was busy performing for the other half. We had to set up at 8am and we had to soundcheck each musical item so we were ready to perform at 11am. I had to run back and forth for all the music groups I was in. We were the best sound tech team at the Chisnallwood Taster Days so far, according to Miss Hextall.
