Just released. How many times can you spot our choir?
With the cancellation of both our local Voices Festival and Lions Schools’ Music Festival that the fabulous Chissy choir was going to sing at, we were glad to be able to enter the Kids Online Singalong video! How many times can you spot our choir in this NZ-wide video?
Cant get enough of the song? Check out both our school version, and the Strum Strike Blow Festival version at the foot of the article.
From the NZ Choral Federation
Many of our tamariki have missed out on their favourite music-making opportunities this year as a result of the changes in Covid levels. Auckland school choirs have been silenced since mid-August, and the majority of our Kids Sing festivals in other parts of New Zealand were ultimately cancelled.
The NZCF has been thrilled to partner again with MENZA (Music Education New Zealand Aotearoa) and the New Zealand Music Commission for the second year of our virtual choir project, Kids Online Singalong.
We invited primary and intermediate school choirs to learn and make a video of Aroha I Aotearoa – the winning entry in this year’s Hook, Line and Sing-A-Long competition written by 14-year-old Anna Feillet from Otago Girls’ High School – and the result is a video featuring 588 school children from 16 primary and intermediate schools around the country!
The video was released on Thursday 9 December
